Pathos Classic One – Integrated amplifier

After having won over the international audiophile community with state-of-the-art reference amplifiers, to conceive a product with a set price point as the main design limit has been a true challenge to Pathos.

The Classic One project was initiated to transfer, in a more affordable amplifier, all the know-how and expertise acquired developing reference products.

Classic One represents a new standard in its price category: it successfully blends in a single chassis a preamplifier and power amplifier, completely separated from each other and provided with their own individual power supplies.

The pre-stage – or, better, the preamplifier – is purely tube, balanced, pure Class A, extremely low noise, with high intrinsic linearity and without any feedback. It provides an exquisitely tube sound in terms of transparency, air, harmonics and refinement… in one word, musicality.

The power stage is a solid state power amplifier, high bias current, Class A/AB in order to adequately drive every load. It provides the sound with speed and dynamics, without influencing the tube nature of the sound. The volume control is motorised and remote controlled, the remote itself is in solid wood. Power supplies are over-dimensioned and stabilized.

Selected components, pure silver Pathos signal cable wiring, gold plated terminals, high-quality materials and refinement at its highest standard are additional benefits provided with the Classic One.

Together with such sound performance and overall quality, the Classic One is offered at a price that clearly demonstrates a philosophy of value for money. This is possible thanks to an aimed design approach, coupled with extremely accurate engineering and superior aesthetic form.

Pathos Ethos: Integrated amplifier (HiDac Optional)

The edged exterior of the Éthos does not provide any clues about how to control the amplifier. Like with the Logos to operate the Éthos is a hit and miss trial and error affair. Both recessed buttons on the front panel are difficult to access and they carry no marks or descriptions. The remote controller (by the way very elegant slick piece of metal) will not help a lot as it also has just anonymous buttons. Either a user looks into the amp’s manual or just presses something to see what it does. This is a kind of trade-off for the clean Italian design,

Other than that the Éthos is built with great attention to detail, the selection of parts, craftsmanship and internal layout scream with quality and care. I loved the amp’s heatsinks that are cast in the shape of Pathos’ logo.

The central part is occupied by a turquoise alphanumeric display that is dimmable. The power switch can be found at the rear panel and there is no need to power the amp off as it stays in a standby mode at idle, A ‘progress bar’ on the display will inform you that the Éthos is waking up – it takes no more than 30 seconds before all circuits are stabilized.

Pathos TT Anniversary – Integrated Amplifier

The first appearance of Pathos on the hi-fi scene did not go unnoticed: a short time after its debut, the T.T. has achieved a solid position among those very few components which contribute to writing the history of High-Fidelity.

International audio reviews welcomed the first product from Pathos with front page covers, highly enthusiastic comments and numerous prestigious awards.

When listening to music reproduced through a T.T. amplifier, everyone can experience the honest difference in terms of musicality, transparency, tonal colour and absence of listening fatigue.

The reason why this difference can he consistently and immediately appreciated is that the T.T. is different.

This difference is named INPOL®, the exclusive worldwide patented pure Class A feedback-free circuitry which has been claimed to represent the most important innovation in musical amplification of the last years.

InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Linear – Linear Pump Follower) is a system patented by Pathos Acoustics which has enjoyed great success and won many awards.

Inpol devices have a special sonic personality obtainable only by means of this particular circuit design – fully balanced in Class A using a single solid-state component in follower configuration, with high current gain and with voltage gain together. The valve amplifier amplifies the input signal voltage and InPol supplies the current to drive the loudspeakers without any further amplification. In this way, the signal is entrusted to the valves and becomes a true copy of the original, with all the quality, purity and harmonic content of the original.

This technology allows an increase in the theoretical output in pure Class A of between 25% and 50% together with a low output impedance which is fundamental for the damping factor and further improved by the double InPol.

Pathos Cinema X – 5+1 Integrated Amplifier

There is a section of the audiophile community who is gradually turning towards home cinema and five-channel sound.

However, this move often includes several compromises on the stereo sound or requires even two different systems. With their new integrated amplifier, Pathos dares to prove that it is possible to integrate high-performance stereo and surround sound in one product.

Music lovers now have the possibility of watching movies using one only amplifier without sonic compromise.
