Drawing on the many years of amplifier design experience at Arcam, the P49 uses the best quality components and engineering practice to produce a product that will give many years of musical pleasure and reliable service.
With a class G amplifier, toroidal based power supply, acoustically damped chassis, paralleled transistor output stages and exceptionally low levels of distortion and noise the P49 is capable of reproducing music with all its original authority and detail. Rest assured you will be hearing the music just as the artist intended.
The P49 has been designed to leapfrog the competition with a massive 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 into 4 ohms. It delivers 50 watts in pure class A mode while allowing for huge extra power reserves from our latest generation class G topology that is both clever and efficient. During normal operation, distortion is measured in less than one part per million so that this massive power is deliver with total control and finesse.
There have been great strides made in improving audio sources and loudspeakers in recent years and the time is right to match them in the field of amplifier design. This ground breaking amplifier is a must audition amplifier for music lovers who understand that power is nothing without control.
The P49 has been designed with system building flexibility in mind and can be configured as a traditional stereo power amp, bridged mode or dual mono mode allowing for the “ultimate” system of a C49 with six bridged P49s tri-amping the speakers.

The Line Magnetic integrated amplifier LM-211IA is a push-pull amplifier with 4x EL34 tubes in Class AB amplification and delivers 2x15W in triode mode and 2x32W in ultra-linear mode. It has 4 balanced line inputs and 4/8Ω output groups.
The rear-illuminated front panel meter is used to adjust polarization of the tubes. The use of high-quality components (Realcap capacitors, ALPS potentiometer) wired in the air, for the most part, is the guarantee of exemplary reliability. Its transformers output are of EI type, specially designed for power supply. The LM-211IA delivers dynamic, rich and natural sound.

The Line Magnetic 805iA uses single-ended triode 805 tubes and operate in pure Class A. It delivers 2x48W power. It has 3 unbalanced line inputs, 1 bypass input and 4, 8, 16Ω output groups. The rear-illuminated front panel meter is used to adjust the polarization of the tubes.

InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare – Linear Pump Follower) is a system patented by Pathos Acoustics which has enjoyed great success and won many awards.
Inpol devices have a special sonic personality obtainable only by means of this particular circuit design – fully balanced in Class A using a single solid state component in follower configuration, with high current gain and with voltage gain together. The valve amplifier amplifies the input signal voltage and InPol supplies the current to drive the loudspeakers without any further amplification. In this way the signal is entrusted to the valves and becomes a true copy of the original, with all the quality, purity and harmonic content of the original.
This technology allows an increase in the theoretical output in pure Class A of between 25% and 50% together with a low output impedance which is fundamental for the damping factor, and further improved by the double InPol.
